The RAL Trendbox is a design tool that contains all 15 color shades of the trend report RAL COLOR FEELING 2026+, transferred into 5 different materials*.
The color, metal, plastic, textile and carpet samples are ideal for creating mood boards or collages and enable an intuitive, professional approach to color and material.
The box thus represents a collection that allows flexible color and material combinations. All materials can be individually combined with each other. The carpet samples are fixed by a Velcro fastener and can be detached for designing. The textile samples are fixed with a screw that can be unscrewed for the design process.
As an add-on, download additional 3D data (.axf) for the materials via the enclosed link and transfer your designs into digital plans.

*Due to the different material properties, there may be color deviations between the different materials. The RAL Trendbox contains samples that come as close as possible to the RAL color shades and should be regarded as a supplement to the trend color palette. Only the RAL D6 Single sheets represent the standardized RAL color tone.
The RAL COLOR FEELING 2026+ is entitled KNOW + IMPROVE. The report on the trend colors for 2026 and beyond comprises 15 color shades that will be highly relevant in many different application areas of design. In addition to the 15 colors, application examples were worked out that show how variously the colors can be combined with each other and what effect can be achieved in each case.|
The RAL Trendbox 2026+ is also available this year to match the RAL COLOUR FEELING 2026+. This translates the trend colors into different materials and invites you to experiment with color and material. The material collection for the last color trend report – RAL Trendbox 2025+ – has won the highest honor, ‘Gold’, of the German Design Award 2024 in the category ‘Excellent Product Design’. The scientific approach to the development of the RAL trend report takes into account a wide variety of factors – including social and design developments – from the past 60 years to the present day. The identification of epochal color and material cycles, regular trend scouting and the application of individually developed observation models of design research are essential elements of the continuous development of the RAL trend reports. Early technology recognition and its impact assessments as well as expert surveys round off the process.

The RAL CLASSIC Colour Collection
The 4-digit RAL colors have been the standard for choosing colors for more than 70 years now. At the beginning the color collection included 40 different colors. Its number has risen to 213 today. The basic collection for matt color shades is called RAL 840-HR, the one for glossy color shades RAL 841-GL. Both basic collections contain color samples that are being used by important institutions to cover a wide range of applications and are constantly adapted to the requirements of the industry. The registers are being used as color samples for designs. They also contain safety- and signaling colors and fulfil the color requirements of DIN regulations.
